Just sanded and plugged the greens. Lot of areas on fairways that were in construction or being worked on also.

I play the course most every Wednesday and have for several years. The course is managed by Am. Golf, but has a relatively new management team. They ARE making a difference; the course is in the best condition is has been in some years. Yes there are lot's of trees which is what gives the course character and it will challenge you. Most green side bunkers have been rebuilt. Since I play here weekly, I certainly recommend it!

Extremely slow play caused by too many fivesomes and groups whose culture seems to be designed to make play slower intentionally.

Nice track that was in fairly good shape. Just really slow for a wednesday @ 7:45. Too many groups of 5.

Rough was too thick for this type of course. It has plenty of large older trees lining the fairways, which by themselves create enough of penalty for missing the fairway.

some say this place can be slow, and i have played 5-hr rounds here myself on other days, particularly weekends when it is very busy. however, on the wednesday that i played there last, we never waited on a hole. the main reason for slow play at El Dorado is that they have a lot of trees on every hole and balls tend to get lost in the rough, which often is covered with leaves. so, there ya have it!

A 5 1/2 hour round which could have been controlled but there was no marshall. Makes for a very bad day!

The only time the course is in very good condition is when they have the long beach open, a professional tournament.

The course is about average for what you find in the LA area. The greens were in fair shape, a bit slow, but the course does have some playability in it. I'd do it again but would want to do it earlier rather than slog through an over 5 hour round again. The other bummer was that the bar was closed at the end of the round. I had my first hole in one and could not celebrate it afterwards at the course!

We had a tournament there and paid $73 per person. It says the price should be $36. Perhaps there was a tournament surcharge.

This was the first time I played this course. Went there with 7 friends with whom I golf about six times a year and we move around to play different courses in the greater LA/Orange County area. This course is about 38 miles from my home. There are lots of trees and some of the fairways are on the narrow side. I thought the greens were in good shape given the current drought conditions in California. Overall, I thought the course is well maintained. Though I didn't score well, I enjoyed my round.
